Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
Step 1)We admitted we were powerless over alcohol - that our lives had become unmanageable.... To me it's like this... "We 'choose' to admit defeat..."
Step 3)Made a 'decision' (see below) to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him.
Decision: 'choosing' the best course of action to take, the act of making up your mind about something, The process of selecting from several choices products or ideas, and taking action.
Ta daaaaaa. lol
It really makes no difference to me to convince anyone of anything.
I had every opportunity and excuse today, just three hours ago to drink. I am broken hearted right now, literally on the verge of unmanly tears, but the thought of drinking never even crossed my mind.
So I guess I didn't have a choice. I'm just me, and you are just you.
Some alkies have given their will and lives to their HP, and they truly believe that in doing so, their obsessions in drinking are gone. They believe they don't have a choice because it is not an option.
That's why they say they have been given a daily reprieve contingent on the maintenance of their spiritual condition.
All I know is that's what I want.
I am through with the topic as well.
Having said that we just had to people come back and pick up a white chip after years of sobriety. Why? Was it once not a choice that became a choice when they stopped going to meetings?
