Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

Wow. I'm so surprised that no one was on the whole day yesterday. I thought this was a support group? I know sometimes I get caught up in my daily things, but for me I find I need that special touch of support on a daily basis by being in contact with another alcoholic who is trying to stay sober. Am I wrong?
Luckily I have my meetings to go to here, and it's Toronto so there are literally hundreds of meetings for me. I don't always like them, but I find I come out feelings a lot more calm, and I sleep good most of the time.
Sometimes people on here are not in places, or positions to be in contact with someone sober. They need to hear from someone, and sometimes it can mean the difference between drinking or not.
I always try to have at least a small bit of contact here. Staying sober, to me anyway, is about being back in contact with people, and joining in the world again. How can I do that alone? If I'm not staying in contact, chances are that I've gone back out again, and I don't want to do that. All the best, James

Can you identify these rom-coms from just a screenshot from the middle of the films? This is a multiple choice quiz so even if you're not entirely sure you can always take a guess and at least have a 25% chance of getting it right anyway, so why not have a go?! https://www.buzzfeed.com/alysaurus688/rom-com-screenshot-trivia-quiz

Weekends are usually quieter, especially as better weather comes. You could try e-AA.org too.
Glad you are still sober and have other means for support as well, as Zach says some days are quieter here than others.

The sun is out, the snow has melted and my magnolia tree is about to blossom for the first time in approximately 20 years!
it's a great time to be sober!
God Bless!
This is my least visited place of seeking that power greater than myself. Not much for online communication, I prefer the old fashioned way. Being that we are separate people seeking a similar solution, I will concede that giving back here, online, is a great practise in humility. Hoorah for you, you have discovered a path toward peace. My sponsor says that service sets him free, so I have come to believe that service sets Him free.
