Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

I agree that in early sobriety most of us do have to deal with the cravings. I did. It was exhausting. I try to stay close to people who are new to remind myself of just how hard early recovery is -- and to help when I can.
Thanks for checking in.
I would not call SMART Recovery an "alternative to AA." It is a proven method on its own. For many people it should be the first method to try as it is non secular.
Hugs,
Dennis
No flame from AA folks here. If it works for you, you are right, don't fix it.
Congrats on four months! And you are right about that, no matter what recovery method we use, we still get cravings on occasion.
