Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
My experience of being sober is that life keeps happening and within that there are many challenging things, situations, losses etc. When I was drinking I didn't have any tools for dealing with it, I just tried to avoid as much as possible. So when I got sober I had to do two things, develop some tools for dealing with life and change my attitude and outlook to allow those tools to work. I got a lot of pointers by going to AA meetings but the thing that allowed me to stay sober and live life was the 12 steps.
Given that you go to AA and have a sponsor how are you getting on with the steps?
Go to a meeting. Talk to your sponsor. If she's not available talk to other women with sobriety.
I agree with nicky, life happens. I've gone through grief in sobriety and the grace (in hindsight) is I didnt want to drink.
I know nothing about Vyvanse. I'd talk to a doctor pronto. A GP and look for another referall to someone who can help you get OFF this medication if that's what you need, or modify it if that's what you need. Either way, you shouldnt look for medical help here or in AA.
Feel free to PM me anytime if you have anything you want to ask or just want to discuss anything.
:)
A second opinion on the medical front would at least go some way to helping you decide what is best for you.
Call your sponsor, if she is unavailable for a while find someone to help you temporarily.
It sounds like you are seriously committed to your sobriety and that can only do you good.
