Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
however, this is a dire desease with dire consequences so- in nancy reagan lingo- just say no.
i never woke up in the morning wishing i had drunk the night before but i sure did wake up ("come to", i mean) and wish i hadn't. devon

it is the next morning now. i did drink 1-1/2. i poured the last 1/2 down the sink. did not get drunk, but did get sleepy. i know it was just a fluke and i should not have drank anything and the next time i may not be so lucky as to stop when i did and if i drink at all i could get drunk... i don't ever want to be drunk again and the only way to not get drunk is to not drink... i know that i know that i know that
i am enjoying this battle even tho it sucks bigtime and i screw up sometimes, but in the battle i know atleast i am fighting and not just laying down and taking it...

I mean well. I don't want you to think otherwise. I don't have all the answers that's forsure or I'd never have been an addict to begin with.
Taking the drink does not make the craving go away. Abstaining does.
This may sound crazy.
We have an allergy of the body, the phenomenon of craving and obsession of the mind.
Only abstinance and or a spiritual experience can make the craving go away.
That is my opinion!
How long until the next craving after you take the drink? Is the drink really curing the craving? No.
I'm sorry if I come across as harsh.
I am glad you said something here first. That is a step in the right direction.
If I could stop at one or two or three (and sometimes I could) I wouldn't need help to quit drinking.
I am hoping your husband gets this, too.
