Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

Throughout our life we've been influenced by other people's behavior and opinions. Many of us were influenced by very poor examples in earlier years. And we may have to pray for help rather than continuing to follow those poor examples now. But all around us are people who are healthy, loving, and honest. We are invited to emulate their behavior.
Acting As If can help us develop new behaviors. We may not feel very comfortable reaching out to a program newcomer or making conversation with someone we've just met, but we can do it. And in time, with practice, we'll discover we've added a positive dimension to our character, one that influences the lives of other people who struggle just like us. All of us, Acting As If in positive ways, offer wonderful examples of behavior change. We reinforce our own changes, and each other's, every time we are thoughtful before we act.
With my Higher Power's help, I will be a good example for someone today.

great topic... I've been away for a while... summer... busy... also many health probs that keep me away from participating as much as I'd like to... but in my example I am doing what I've seen others do before me when we take care of our families... our kids, g-kids... we begin to take time to live our lives .. to take care of ourselves...
I miss my heavy participation in AA and mtgs .. service work for my district, area, and chairing mtgs.. being someone seen at meetings everyday, being there to help the newcomers and older members alike..
but now .. after 22 yrs of working to live the principles I've learned in this new way of life... I've begun to live a new way of life and am taking more time for those at home and myself... so rather than suffering with my defects of 'selfishness' & ' selfcenteredness have become more 'self caring' and 'other caring' ....
I know how valueable it is to give of my time because others before me, and for me, gave of their time.... and by watching them take time for their families now do so better for mine...
It is a wonderfull thing to learn from the great examples of those around me... learning what I do want to behave like and also what I do not what to behave like...
