Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
That's why I am thinking maybe to try Campral to see if it works.
I don't know how much you were drinking or how long, but that can play a role in the severity of your withdrawal. If you were drinking a lot, beware of DT's. Google it and RUN to the Doctor if you think you're having them.
You're 2/3 through day#1 - keep it up!
I have actually quit before a few times. I always had trouble getting past the third day because the headaches and body aches and increased heart rate and sweating were too much to take. I made it exactly two weeks the last time I quit and was feeling good but I screwed it all up and have been drinking heavily again for the past 3 months.
One day at a time though. I have to make it throught this day first.

Everything you do when you first get sober is going to be hostile and uncomfortable. That's because your best friend has been taken away. Man you want to be there for your kids? You need to get off your arse and take care of yourself SO you can take care of them. If that's rehab, AA meetings, counselling, group therapy whatever, just do it. We're here in support. I pray you will take some action for both you and your family. Coogee xxx
