Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
Secondly, things that happen in our lives can still relate to our past alcoholism or might push us into drinking behavior in the future. If you don't like a post, move on- that's what I always say.
Especially the one in particular that I believe Joe was referring to here.....
Is that alcohol-related or is it that I'm just becoming an old grump like Joe?
first and foremost this should be a place where people come to support each other in not drinking. Sometimes that involves talking about othere issues. the whole key to staying sober is to learn to deal with life on life's terms without using alcohol.
Do I like all the drama and arguing that goes on around here, no I think it's very counter productive. Some people post things just to start arguements and others make totally innocent posts that turn into arguements. None of it is helpful.
I believe that talking about things that are going on and relating them to your alcoholism and your quest to stay sober is perfectly acceptable.
I also believe that alittle fun post, a joke, music sharing etc is good for all of us.
These are just my opinions.
By the way I belong to several other forums on here that relate to specific issues that I have and most are pretty dead with few active members and posts.
