guess you are right. it is a personal matter not related to alcoholism but I was just wondering that will I be able to handle the stress that comes with multiple relationships now that I have crossed one year. I have had multiple partners before but that time I used to deal with the guilt and associated feelings using alcohol.

you have posted something similar before if I recall correctly. You may have something biological that needs re-wiring. Horray for modern medicine-they may have something to calm you down but not turn you into a zombie! I remember you were not happy with the meds given for bipolar (I think?) but maybe you should not throw out the whole idea of meds because of one bad experience. I have periodic depression, and it took me years to find out how to manage it. I CANNOT diagnose you of course, but it sounds like you need to see a shrink for a re-working of your meds. Cannot hurt.

HA!. Sumi, you probably lost your interest or ability whilst drinking, and now your sober, the body is returning to a healthy state. Can't recall if sobriety did that to me, but coming off 8 months of chemo sure did. Just remember to respect your girlfiend yeah. Go hide in the closet or have a cold shower my friend.

No, meds would not treat feeling horny all the time, it would treat impulsivity which screws up life stuff-feeling out of control.

It just does not strike me as a situation in which someone stopped drinking and then all the sudden feinded for sex-based on the alcohol being gone. Sounds like more. Again though, I know very little as I have not met you in person. And would I want to? Hoping you are calm and appropriate around women, eh?

Alcohol abuse can cause impotence....not that I would know....I read it on the internet. Hell, Sumital, even I would be afraid to meet you in the condition you are in!...LOL

I take yoga classes with 25 women around me. And no one knows of my alcoholic history.

I am not talking about you being an alcoholic tendencies sumital...just wondering if you have a hold on your horniness around unsuspecting women.

I do believe that part of this is due to the fact that you are sober and healthy BUT be careful; Alcoholics tend to over indulge in many things- I think it's part of our nature. If something makes you feel good, you want more of it. Sex can be quite the powerful drug, especially for guys. How much time do you spend focusing on sex? This may be part of the problem - sex is great, but if you dwell on it, you'll want it all the time.....kind of like alcohol. Try "switching channels" in your brain more often. You don't have to ignore your urges completely, but don't dwell on them......if you do, the same thoughts that turned you into an alcoholic, could cause similar problems with sex.

good point dippy. and good to hear sumital-I am just being the "devil's advocate" on this one, as I have known men with hypersexuality that come on so strong it can be threatening, and they think they are charming. Everything in moderation, there is nothing inherantly wrong with a strong libido, just don't turn it into a new addiction like dippy speaks of.
