Agoraphobia & Social Anxiety Support Group
Agoraphobia is an anxiety disorder, often precipitated by the fear of having a panic attack in a setting from which there is no easy means of escape. As a result, sufferers of agoraphobia may avoid public and/or unfamiliar places. In severe cases, the sufferer may become confined to their home, experiencing difficulty traveling from this "safe place."

I am relatively new to this site and looking for some advice.
I absolutely dread speaking in front of people. Anything from reading in class or going up in front of everyone in class and doing a speech or presentation or something. I've been having this problem since I was really young and I could use advice about finally ridding of this problem.

See your doctor. Ask for a referral to a psychiatrist. The psychiatrist can prescribe a drug called inderal, that you can take an hour before speaking in public. Many people find that this helps them so much no other drugs are needed. If that doesn't work for your there are other things to do like additional drugs, and different types of therapy you can try. This is not a problem that you can't overcome with a little dedication and the right medications. Call your doctor and get started!

I agree with going to a doctor and to a psychiatrist. But also, slow exposure to what makes you scared will help you overcome this fear. I've just started taking a public speaking class for people who have social anxiety. We do things in manageable steps. I would try to find some sort of support group in your area. I believe that exposure works, it's a slow process, but try it out here and there. You don't have to get up in front of the room to try this out, you can start really small. Good luck.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
