Agoraphobia & Social Anxiety Support Group
Agoraphobia is an anxiety disorder, often precipitated by the fear of having a panic attack in a setting from which there is no easy means of escape. As a result, sufferers of agoraphobia may avoid public and/or unfamiliar places. In severe cases, the sufferer may become confined to their home, experiencing difficulty traveling from this "safe place."
Don't feel bad about depending on your friends to help you through this. That's one good reason we have friends. Remember to help them with their burdens and it will all work out for the best. Are you working now, or in training for a job? Keeping your mind occupied with other things is the easiest way to get past these anxiety-ridden days.
Do you enjoy any games, activities or hobbies? These can often provide welcome distractions. Do you like animals, or have any pets? These can provide easy, undemanding companionship. I like going to the park and feeding the pigeons, or watching others do it.
Welcome to the group. I hope you have a better day tomorrow, and a happier, less-stressed life ahead. Cheers!
