Agoraphobia & Social Anxiety Support Group
Agoraphobia is an anxiety disorder, often precipitated by the fear of having a panic attack in a setting from which there is no easy means of escape. As a result, sufferers of agoraphobia may avoid public and/or unfamiliar places. In severe cases, the sufferer may become confined to their home, experiencing difficulty traveling from this "safe place."
i have social anxiety still and don't go many places, at least not to any social occasions. i have been able to go to the stores - even to walmart, which is pretty amazing. but i've been practicing a long time now. i have somehow overcome agoraphobia twice now and each time didn't think i would ever be able to.
one thing that i think was very important for me? was to be extra gentle with myself and not to be critical. if today is not the day, let that be ok. hugs, Lilly
Hugs to all who live this way
