Agoraphobia & Social Anxiety Support Group
Agoraphobia is an anxiety disorder, often precipitated by the fear of having a panic attack in a setting from which there is no easy means of escape. As a result, sufferers of agoraphobia may avoid public and/or unfamiliar places. In severe cases, the sufferer may become confined to their home, experiencing difficulty traveling from this "safe place."
I can assure you just from reading your post you are a likable person.
I struggle with the same types of things and am mostly housebound at this point. I know how lonely it can be. I have been trying to take baby steps lately. I do what I can on the days I can. Even driving around the block can be a baby step. I wish I had some answers for you, as I am looking for them too. I just wanted you to know you are not alone. Also try to do things you enjoy when you just can't get out it can be reading a book, or whatever would calm you and help you to feel better. Take baby steps and be proud of yourself when you accomplish one. I wish I had more helpful advice I am sure someone elsle will.
I don't have very many friends, and other than my sister (who is my best friend and right now we live in the same house) I see one friend a few times a month (when he visits). Being lonely sucks!! I want to get out there and live my life, but instead I am in my house dealing with mental illness. Sorry, not meaning to turn this into a thing about me, I just wanted to tell you that I can really relate. I always worry about what people think of me, and I have really crappy self esteem. I find it really hard to make new friends too. Here is hoping that we can get better!!!! *Super hugs!*
