Agoraphobia & Social Anxiety Support Group
Agoraphobia is an anxiety disorder, often precipitated by the fear of having a panic attack in a setting from which there is no easy means of escape. As a result, sufferers of agoraphobia may avoid public and/or unfamiliar places. In severe cases, the sufferer may become confined to their home, experiencing difficulty traveling from this "safe place."

I can't bring my daughter to her friends birthday party im having panic attacks about leaving the house. Thankfully her dad is taking her. I'm missing another important thing for her. She's only four and is so excited a friend from school invited her. It would be so nice to watch all the kids have a good day. I failed again. One day she is going to hate me if I don't get better.

I used to be scared to leave the house I found facing my fears seemed to help. Doing wat I thought I could not do makes me less scared. I still have attacks but tell my self they will go away in a second and I will be fine taking deep breaths seems to help me. but I have missed out on fun days just not wanting to face the possibility having anxiety attacks. I remember one day my bf took the kids out sled riding all day and I didn't go. I felt horrible like I would never be able to have fun again with other people. Also there have been times were I ruined everyone elses time because I felt like i had to go home so they had to take me. Its hard when no one really knows what you are going through and you cant control it.

I am sorry you have missed this event, but you did not fail. You did not ask to have this disorder. I doubt your daughter will hate you for having an illness. You also have plenty of time to get this under control. It's sad you had to miss some events, but you still have time to enjoy many other events.

I completely understand. Im missing my kids school conferences for the first time in my life, I make my husband take them to the doctors, I dont let them do any after school activity because that means i'd have to take them, I even left my daughter at school for half a hour after they called me and told me she was sick because I had to sit in the parking lot and wait for my husband because I couldnt walk in the school by myself! Ridiculous! So yes please know you are not alone!

Many of you know Mr K told me to "shut your mouth" in March 2025 when we took a road trip to Alpena Michigan. Since that time, we have had lots of ups and downs but I have never intentionally hurt Mr K in anyway. And when we first started dating in 2024 he let me know, although he is an engineer by degree, he has an extremely low EQ. Overall, he is ok (not off the charts nice like other guys in...
