Hi, just a question I've been wondering about, mainly for those of you who are like me and wet some but not all of the time - and who often wake up (either in the middle of the night, early in the morning or at your regular time in the morning) before you wet, but with your bladder full almost to the bursting point. My questions are, 1, how urgently do you usually need to go in that situation? (like, if you didn't get up, would you lose control in seconds? minutes? or could you wait awhile if you had to?) And, 2, do you ever feel tempted, if you're really tired, to just forget about your bladder and roll over and try to go back to sleep? If so, what usually happens afterwards?
I'm curious what some of you all think... I'll leave this for a day or two and then I'll share my own thoughts! Thanks!

I often wake up with a sensation of peeing (which is in fact happening). Over a period of tiem this has replacrd waking up wanting to pee urgently.

@Dribbler, Thanks for replying, and that happens to me sometimes too. Actually there have been a couple of times in my life when (mostly because of high stress levels making it difficult or impossible to keep up with laundry) I decided to start wearing pull-ups to bed on a regular basis... and that was exactly what happened to me both of those times. Over time I started waking up needing to pee less and less often, and instead started waking up while actually peeing and unable to stop. This was gradually replaced in turn by a much greater frequency of sleeping through peeing completely and not waking up until morning. Has that been your experience also?

usually when I wake up with a full bladder before I wet I have to go right away. Sometimes it won't feel that urgent but as soon as I get out of bed urgency kicks in and I barely make it or wet a little on the way. Lately I've only been wetting the bed about once every week and half so I've been rushing to the bathroom as soon as I wake up. There has been times where I would wake up in the middle of my sleep time having to pee and I would feel really tired and it wouldn't feel that urgent so I'd be lazy and went back to sleep. When I do this I always wake up wet and feeling immature for not getting up and going when I know I have this problem. Now when I feel really tired or have been drinking I put on a diaper at bedtime. I would wear a diaper everynight if I could afford it, but since I don't wet everynight I just wear them when I think I'm most at risk. Sometimes this results in having to wash the bedding a little more often but I'm saving on diapers.

What I have found is that bed protection pads are very effective for the times when I am not diapered but sudden;y need to go. They are a lot cheaper than diapers and last for days if you don't need to wet them. They are uncomfortable to sleep on if wet - but can be rolled up and got rid of easily- and they do save a lot of laundry.

If I wake up needing to go, best to get up and GO. Alternatively, if I wake up needing to go, but have already wet my bed or diaper earlier in the evening, then I often supplement the wetting, since the bed is going to get changed anyway.

I wake up with urges all the time. I however cannot make it to the bathroom.

I rarely wake with a full bladder, sometimes I wake while wetting my self but usually I am already wet when I wake in the morning having slept through my wetting.

A lot of times i will wet the bed shortly before my alarm goes off.....or I will start wetting as my alarm is going off. Like others have said I admit if I wake up with a full bladder and my pull up is wet if I think it can take another wetting I just stay in bed....getting up isnt preventing anything since I have to clean up anyway and I would rather just sleep.

I have to admit I rarely get up to the toilet if I do wake up needing to pee. I usually just wet my nappy and go back to sleep.

It is extremely rare that I will have a dry night; often requiring a change during the night despite using Tena slip maxi all in one nappies. Almost without exception the moment I get up and stand up in the morning I will wet again, frequently with a pretty full bladder.

I have that problem in the morning when I wake up and can not hold it in at all.
