We seem to have similar body dimensions, except that I may be a little taller. My guess is that you would use small/medium in most brands of disposables. At home I wear washables and plastic pants, which can be customized to fit by pinning and re-pinning, as necessary.

Cavert well if you do you need to find out how much protection you will need, do you have any allergies, some disposable, use perfumes,oder killers,and latex, i use cloth with plastic pants, because i have problems with disposible, it was trial and air with thickness under clothing, even cloth size its up to you what yopu need each person is diffrent, im also a save the natural resource type person Good Luck With Finding Your Righ Product keep an open mind DW

Like you, I finally decided to wear night time protection after many years of bedwetting. It was the embarasment factor that always stopped me.

I started with disposable but found cloth and plastic pants were much more absorbent and gave me a better nights sleep. The bulky factor and washing are the only concerns, but once in a routine its easy!

When I away from home, I use Tenna briefs, they are good and do the job well.

It's a good idea to wear protection. It is so much less of a hastle. I wear Depends Maximum Protection and I have never had a leak. I have, however, tried underjams because they can find pretty well (a little snug), but they have had a history of leaking once in a while so I just stick with the Depends. They are comfortable and not too noticable as long as you wear darker pants that are not too tight.

I have commented elsewhere that it really is helpful to try as many brands and types of protection as possible - using manufacturers fee offers etc to save buying packs of things that might not suit you. In addition I have used disposable under pads to save the sheets from leakage -these work fine for diaper "overflow" which usually only reaches the bottom sheet-not the duvet cover- unless you are very unlucky.

People speak of diapers with embarrassment - and I understand this - but it was more embarrassing for me to wake up starting to pee,(if I did wake up - the nights I didn't were worse) rush to the bathroom losing control on the way, finish on the toilet, wipe the floor, dump my underwear, put on fresh briefs, go back to bed only to feel damp from the sheet all cold on my butt.

I wear and wet tena maxi pads at night.

5'7" and 135lbs? Not to be rude, but those measurements seem weird. I feel sorry for you if your that skinny.

I would describe that as svelt or fit! I remember way back when I joined the army I was 6'2" and 10.5 stone or 147 lbs. Mind you when I finished basic training I weighed in at 175lbs. Sadly not so fit now!

I finally got tired of getting up to go to the bathroom 2-4 times a night. When I finally decided to wear diapers at night I am sleeping so much better. So much better to have a wet diaper than a wet bed! Once you make the decision to wear diapers you will not believe how much better you will sleep! You need to try different combinations to see what really works for you. I have used both cloth diapers with a waterproof pant and disposables. The cloth are expensive to start with, but can really save money in the long run. The disposables are so much better now than in the past. There are many super absorbent adult diapers available the work very well for overnight. Many companies will send you samples to try. I have used the Molicare super plus, the Abena M-4, and Northshore Care supreme and supreme air overnight diapers. Just do a search for adult overnight diapers and you should be able to find some choices that work for you. Let us know how you are doing.

What works for me is a combo, and yes the embarrassment was a big factor. What I did to conceal, even though my wife knows, is to wear a bed shirt. They come down to almost the knee so there is nothing to be seen or embarrassed about. I wear a disposable with a soaker pad inside, then a cloth pull up diaper that covers the leg openings and rides high on the waist. This acts to wick what leaks from each disposable diaper opening. Each opening does leak and the wicking just just the trick, then I wear high back plastic pants with tight elastic to keep the bed dry. This works very well. The mattress has a protective cover as well, just in case. If I wake up and can tell the diaper is only partially wet, but not saturated, it's less disruptive to just wet the diaper and go back to sleep which gives a better nights sleeps. Today's super absorbent polymer disposables don't feel cold or wet when they are used, they just grow in thickness.

I remember that during my childhood years my parents, following an advice from a doctor who declared that I you offer child incontinence protection she will never grow of her enuresis, the only means of protection I had was plastic bed cover that laid under the sheet, so I regularly woke up in a wet bed, which was both uncomfortable and embracing. It did not help me to fight my bedwetting anyway, and so since my late teenage years, when it became clear that I will have to live with that, I started putting diaper for sleep. Do not think it is a problem if it allows you to stay dry, brings physical comfort and absence of a feeling that you, again, did something wrong with your bed.

Wearing a diaper/nappy at night means an undisturbed night or at least a dry bed as I sometimes will need to change at night. Just becomes a way of life. I have found the Tena slip maxi the best for me. I also have a washable bed pad just in case of leaks. All in all it makes for increased confidence and a good nights sleep and no disturbance or wet beds for my wife.

I wear diapers nightly because I pretty much wet every night. The urologist and Dr. can't figure out why my brain doesn't receive the signal from my bladder that I need to go to the bathroom after I fall asleep, I'm a very light sleeper so it's a mystery to them. Now I concentrate on the best sleep I can get and let the diaper products do what they are designed to do, soak up fluid, and I let the high back plastic pants do their job and contain the fluid. You have a problem, determine the solution, apply the solution and move forward. This morning my diaper was swelling, I woke and lay there tired and just wanting to sleep, I was awake and knew I had to go, but wanting to sleep some more and not wanting to be disturbed, I let the diapers do their job and let go. They did their job and so did the plastic pants...I got more rest. It felt odd knowing I was intentionally wetting my diaper, but logically, there was no reason to not wet and continue resting. Maybe for me it's all in how I look at it.

I'm over 60 and have lived with bedwetting my whole life. I had to wear cloth diapers with plastic pants at night until I entered high school. I hated wearing diapers and was ridiculed by brothers for years and had to endure extended family knowing about my wetting and always had my designated "protected" bed to sleep in. I also had problems wetting whatever I fell asleep on, car seats, airline seats, couches, etc. I grew tired of dealing with soaked beds, pillows, blankets, and pj's so put myself back in nighttime diapers at age 17 or 18. I often had minor leaking problems during the day and constantly tried to hide the wet spots on my pants. I always tried to wear black or dark pants. Anyway I consider myself as an expert in this department. Three days I do wear dry 24/7 diapers during the day but have never found any disposable that can work at night. The way I look at it if I'm in a diaper I want to wake up in a dry bed. I still use thick cloth diapers with high waisted plastic pants at night and rarely get anything wet besides my waist band ( and my diaper, of course) the thing with cloth is you can wear them as thick as necessary and for me that many times means wetting more than once a night. Too bad there's such a stigma regarding diapers because once you're able to get over that, the security and stress relief they provide is well worth the small hassle of dealing with them. It is far easier to wash a diaper and plastic pants than it is to deal with a cold soaked bed and all the stuff that messes up. I know there are some out there that only have a rare wetting occurance and this may not be for you. Others like me, which I know there are plenty of rarely ever wake up dry you can't beat diapers.
