I was using disposable diapers too until my mom decided to switch to cloth diaper and washable pants.
I now wear all-in-one diaper pants from night'nday and I am very happy about. They are very smooth to the skin and comfortable to wear even with additional booster diapers.
They are a little bit more noticeable -as they are thicker between your legs and bum- but you get used to it and always can try to hide them under wider cloths.

I really can recommend such type of diaper / diaper pants.

I think cloth diapers are very good - but you do have to look at the quality of what you are buying - they are a big investment and if they lose comfort or absorbancy you go on using them anyway just to get your money's worth out of them.

You have to factor in laundry costs and the decrease in convenience - if you have to use a tumble dryer it can be expensive and not everybody likes the lack of privacy occasioned by haovng adult size nappies drying around hte house or on a clothes line in the garden.

I tried an all-in-one version (cloth diaper with "waterproof" covering) cloth diaper a while back. Whats cool is if you don't wet them, they can be worn another night. It goes on with large velcro tabs in no time, and it's comfortable.

The down side is the "waterproof" covering is meant to breathe, so you theoretically don't get overheated. It's been my experience that anything that is "breatheable and waterproof" is much more the former than the latter, be it cloth diapers or cloth-like disposables. The solution I came to was to put on plastic pants over the all-in-one, which I find ironic. They were expensive (~$70 for the all-in-one and plastic pants) so I still use them, I just wish they didn't require the additional pants.

To summarize, if I had to get more in the future, I'd forget the all-in-one's and just get a plain cloth diaper and plastic pants. Hope this helps.

I just came across your topic and I really can recommend all-in-one diaper pants. I use them for my foster-daughter who wears those pants at night and day. Because she is a heavy wetter and soils very often her diaper she gets additional cloth diaper. As Alexandra mentioned before they are very noticeable as they bulge when you wear them with additional booster diapers. But my foster daughter don't bother it at all and you may be fine too.

These pants are washable, made from PU and have already a sewn in diaper. So this diaper may already be enough for you obviously depending on your wetting.
The material feels very smooth at your skin and she had not too many leakages yet. But it happens and perhaps there is just no product out there which never fails.

I sometimes need a booster inside Tena Maxi, particularly in cold weather. I find a small Bambino Mio does the job well. But I have not gone onto full adult cloth, The whole pinning business sounds too complicated!

Cloth diapers and vinyl plastic pants are better in the long run as the all-in-one covers wear out quickly. With cloth diapers you can add the amount of layering needed for daytime or nighttime. Since I own my own diapers, I hae a local diaper service that picks up.drops of my fresh diapers weekly. The cost is like $7.00 a week and saves a lot of work for us. The company uses plain white vans for pick ups and has been incredibly reliable. The cloth diapers are as hideable as disposables under jeans and work great around the house and small trips/errands.

We tried cloth diapers for a short time. We ordered several products from this place- http://www.idiaper.com/Reusable-Unisex-Briefs_c_1256.html . I never liked em. I hated the fact that once they got wet I stayed wet. I also disliked having to use a type of rubber panty over them. My nurse does not recomend them for skin care either. I also hated the embarrasment of having bowel events in them and then My attendent or husband would have to clean the soiled diaper after cleaning Me up.

I use a diaper service that serves the infant market. As long as i provide my own diapers, they pick up and drop of weekly. The service is awesome and the diapers come back fresh and ready to go again. I use the 36 x 36 flat diapers with the prefolds inside as needed. I can add the amount of prefolds i need depending on what I will be doing. Everything gets dumped intot he diaper pail and is mega easy. I just pull the plastic bag from the diaper pail and seal it off and they go out for pick up. I have very little smell and colth offer a lot of comfort. For daytime use I typically use 1 of the 36 x 36 flat diapers, and 4 prefolds inside. The snappi fasteners make closing the diaper a breeze and then on go the vinyl plastic pants and I get dressed. Bringing home the used wet diapers is easy with a simple plastic trash bag that can be used more than once. Everything dumps into the big diaper pail and I restock my bag for the nex adventure.. They seem to be well hidden under my jeans, and if not so what! I have to deal with the medical situation as it was given to me.

I find the cloth doesn't soak up enough at night and leak easily. I feel comfortable with a Depends pad with the elastic straps they come with, put that on then I have Gerber padded diapers that I layer 4 of them, staggering the top front of each, one inch below the next to allow them to have enough coverage front to back, then I have a cloth adult pull up I put on after the Gerbers. To hold this all in place I have to use a control women's panty (because it's tight and stretching in all directions) over all the cloth, to hold it all snug to my body because all the cloth just kind pushes away from my body, but the panty makes it all snug. Then I put on a plastic pant over. When I wake, the Depends pad is wet and really all the cloth is too, but the cloth washes, the Depends pad I throw out but it soaks up alot and makes a big difference.

Cloth works great with the right number of layers. I wear vinyl plastic pants over the diaper and wake up in a dry bed. I have tons of the Gerber padded soaker diapers I use and they keep my clothes dry and no leaks like with disposables. I also wear cloth diapers daytime when not at work and feel very comfortable with them.

Places like AngelFluff, LLMedico and even Amazon have a wide range of adult sized cloth diapers and waterproof pants to choose from.

I've use cloth prefolds for many years and have had great luck with them. For day time use I just wear a size larger for the pants I wear.

colth diapers are far better that any disp diapers they even cost a lot less in the long run and better for the planent too
