Adoption Support Group
Adoption is the legal act of permanently placing a child with a parent or parents other than the birth parents. Whether you are looking to adopt, putting your child up for adoption, parenting an adopted child, or just thinking about it, this is the place to discuss.
I am new to this group. My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for 8 year now. A few years ago we finally were at a place and decided to do fertility testing. There really is not a specific thing that the doctors can say is wrong (in my opinion). I have a low egg reserve and that is it, my OB didn't seem to think it was not possible for us to get pregnant on our own with that diagnosis. Still we are not pregnant yet. In the past I had not even wanted to consider or think about adoption. I believe this is just part of the whole process with infertility, many emotions and stages go into that. I am just now thinking about talking to my husband again about it and feeling that maybe that is the path for us. In the last few weeks I have just had the feeling of I want to be a mom and not caring as much how that happens. I am not fully giving up hope to have one of my own, another thing I think people who are infertile do, always hope for a miracle. However, I don't see it happening and don't want to not get to be a mother because of it.
What tips would anyone give knowing I am just starting out in the process? There is a local place near me having a meeting soon in regards to adoption that I hope to attend in a few weeks. I also have the fear of my baby being taken from me after we do adopt. Any advice or helpful resources would be greatly appreciated. How long on average has it taken for some couples here who have adopted from process start to adoption? What about the average cost?

Hi... I was just looking for support groups and came across this site. I was just diagnosed with NHL specifically Folicular Lymphoma (Large B-Cell type) and I guess it would just be nice to talk to people who have been through this. I'm 28 F and I'm a new mom, my life has changed drastically in the last two years and now this diagnosis has really gotten me down...I had a CT scan done last week...
