Hello, my Dh and I live in Canada and have been waiting to adopt for over a year now. We were planning to adopt from India however we have been told that it is getting increaseingly difficult because they are undergoing a fertility crisis and the government will not release a child unless two indian families have rejected the child first. So the chances of adopting a healthy child without any medical issues is impossible now! We wanted to look into Guyana (similarities in culture) but we were told that their government is only allowing relative adoption. We are too old for Korea, have heard of nightmare situations with Russia, wanted Nepal but their government is taking their time with deciding about international adoption, Ethopia and Guatemala are closed now (at least for Canada). We have tried CAS, but were told since we work all day, fostering a child is not possible and the wait time has just increased.
I am just wondering if anyone on this site is Canadian and is there hope for international adoption somewhere in the world where you will not incounter long wait times? We are open to any child from ages of 0-4 years old.
