Adoption Support Group
Adoption is the legal act of permanently placing a child with a parent or parents other than the birth parents. Whether you are looking to adopt, putting your child up for adoption, parenting an adopted child, or just thinking about it, this is the place to discuss.
Below you will find a list of organizations that provide support and assistance with searches to adult adoptees and first/birth parents. Adoptive parents are welcome to join, as well, but usually take a back seat in the majority of these organizations.
it makes me angry when adoption agencies charge adult adoptees for search assistance. They make plenty of money when they place children for adoption. That money is made on the backs of the children and the birth parents whose rights are terminated. It is, to me, unethical for them to charge adult adoptees for access to what is rightfully theirs-- their history, their records. To charge a fee for counseling/therapy is understandable, but to charge a fee for search information is something that I will never understand or accept. The following organizations do NOT charge fees.

reunite charges money to search records. it is so not fair. I want to know who adopted my daughter. I want to know how she is. Its unfair because I think it was a closed adoption but still is there no way? I need something that I can search. I think sights liek that that say they are free and then want you to pay to search records are heart breakers for people who are poor like me.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus).
