Attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and attention deficit disorder (ADD) are more common than you might think. When people in the work place have been verbally dominating in the past, I've usually managed to get through it by either laughing it off and smiling... a lot... pretending it's not bothering me or ignoring it completely! I would still go away feeling inferior and more than likely would beat myself up later for having said nothing, but when your confidence is low, I think it's best to not get too involved with people who are making fun of you. If you start engaging with them it's like throwing fuel on to the fire.
Is there anyone at work you feel comfortable discussing this with?
Luckily, I've been temporarily signed off work so I can fully concentrate working on myself so I'm better prepared for difficult situations. Getting by isn't enough for me. I want to succeed.
I hope you manage to gain some control of this. I wish you all the best.
Hugs,
Jen :-)
