What's your experience with Daytrana?

I've taken vyvanse and adderall before, both were extremely strong on my and had the effect of making me feel anxious, jittery, sullen, lethargic. I've been off medication for sometime but my school work load has dramatically increased this year and I find myself falling behind much more than usual. It all just seems so unmanageable with ADD
Im having a check up with my doctor tommorow and kinda wanted to bring up the Daytrana patch. I've looked into it and it seems people have far less side effects from it as opposed to the two medications i've mentioned, due to it not being an amphetamine

Hi King, My teen son is using the patch for 1 month now (was on Adderall prev for 1 1/2 yrs) It seems to be agreeing with him. His hyper behavior has decreased although the defiance is still there very much in the eve (med worn off) Although he is diag as severe ADHD it is of the hyper & impulsive classification (has always been able to pull off good grades in school). He does seem more focused when the patch is working tho. The patch is the same as Ritalin only in patch form so it is a stimulant. Pros: u can remove it & it will stop working if u should choose, it goes directly into the bldstrem...not metabolised thru the liver, its working 4 him!! Cons: not covered by our insurance (doesn't come in generic form), he is unable to put it on himself properly, we have to cut 1/3 of the patch off as he only gets partial dose of 30 mgs (a hassle), a little irritating to the skin. Overall we like it but can't afford the $150. per mo :(. Good luck let me know what you think, Blu

My husband has ADD. The Daytrana patch did not help him at all. He's on 70 mg Vyvance and 30 mg of amphetamine. This combination seems to work better for him.
You might want to try Nuvigil. I don't have ADD but my sleep study Dr. prescribed it because I feel sleepy during the day. It helps to wake me up. I tried 150 mg but it was too much; I could not sleep that night. They come in 150 mg and 250 mg.
I cut my 150 mg pill in half.

My daughter was first placed on vyvanse. the drug made her very jittery, and bouncy. she was running around like she was on speed. she complaint that her chest hurted. needless to say, the doctor took her off. she then tried focalin. the drug worked during the day, but she had extreme meltdowns when it was wearing off. She has been on the daytrana patch and it has helped her focus. the meltdowns are not as frequent, but she still can be forgetful. overall, she will get the work completed.

    My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper?
