I found myself feeling pretty moody late in the afternoon, but that has been much better. I've had a decreased appetite and trouble sleeping at times but both of those are leveling off as well. I'll take a few side effects though... I'm so much more focused than before.

My son was taking Vyvanse till we moved. I am still trying to get him to a doctor to get him back on it. It was on it for 10 months and we only had one side effect, which was every now and then he would have chest pains that would last 10 seconds. I would call the doctor and the doctor had me bring him in and checked him out and he was fine. He was doing alot better while he was taking it because he was able to sit and do his school work and his homework at home after school. He just turned 7 last week and he has been without it sine mid August. I have ADHD too and it has affected my school work with college but not with my day to day work and things that i have to do and i am not on meds right now but i am going to talk to a doctor once i can find one where we have moved to.

When my son was on Vyvanse the only side effect we had was an extreme loss of appetite. This resulted in an extreme loss of weight. His teacher was afraid to hug him to hard because he felt frail. His hip bones poked out, I could count all of his ribs and vertebrae just by looking at him. His lunch lady even began to report back to me with what all he had been eating.

Long story short, he is off of Vyvanse and now takes Intuniv. He has gained all of his weight back (plus a little extra). Keep in mind that all meds effect people differently.

My 7 yo son started taking Vyvanse last year when he first got diagnosed. After about a week on it I took him off. He became extremely violent and moody...threatened to run away and even to kill himself! He's now on Focalin and doing GREAT! Good luck to you!

My sons weight went back and forth but nothing that the doctor would say a big lose. he would be 55 lbs on month, 50 the next and then 56 the next. He wouldnt eat at times but he didnt lose a lot of weight. But every med will affect every person differently.

Our son went into huge rages as it wore off. One time, he smashed holes in his bedroom door and walls and threatened to jump out his bedroom window and kill himself. He's only eight. I had to call 911 and the police calmed him down enough I could take him to the ER. Needless to say, I hate Vyvanse.

Had a friend with this complaint. I did not find this to be a prob with me. I found it worked with less side-effects including blood-pressure elevation and worked all day. Amazing how it was so smooth in delivery. No feel-good perks either which depending on person can be a very bad thing.

My son started taking VyVanse about 2 1/2 months ago. At first it was wonderful. His grades went up, he stopped getting in trouble at school, he was back to his sweet self again. BUT now...while his grades are still good he is acting out at school, his aggression and rage is HORRIBLE. He is a heart patient too so that makes it so hard to find something that will counteract that symptom. His appetite actually increased than when he was on Concerta so that was a good thing. But the aggression thing is a serious side effect.
