My almost 6 year old was just diagnosed with ADHD and prescribed Vyvanse 20 mg. Looking to hear from people with experience with this med. Thanks!

im on day 1 of vyvanse 50 mg, and it makes me really sweaty. I was taking concerta before..if this keeps up ill prolly switch back

My 6 year old daughter used Vyvanse for about 2 months before we had to take her off of it. It made her anger and aggression worse and she was not quite as in control of her impulses as she was on other medications. We also had problems with the effects lasting all day for her. It would wear off about 2pm even on a higher dosage. I have also heard very good things about Vyvanse, so don't be discouraged. It may work well for your child. Good luck!

My sons were both on this, my 9 year old didn't respond well, it made him feel like a zombie he felt really serious all the time, that was his feeling so we switched to Aderol (sp?) and that seems to be working really well for him.

My 7 year old son started on 20mg and had a TERRIBLE reaction to it the first 3 or so days. After that "wore" off though, it's been AMAZING for him! He responds really well to it.

It's tempting to give up when they are having a hard time adjusting which is hard to do, but my husband was wanting us to push through, we did and it's been very helpful for him.

my daughter wa son aderall and lost a ton of weight so we switched to Vyvanse adn she loved it. However it wasnt quite strong enough and wasnt lasting long enough so the evenings we had melts downs every night. Then the doctor added 3mg of aderall and then about anhour later I give her the Vyvanse. This seems to be helping her last longer but it was keeping her up very LATE so the doctor suggested giving her Melatolin sleep aid to get her back on track. I give 3mg of that at night and she gets a very good sleep. I hope this helps

My child was prescribed this right before starting Kindergarten (Adderol for 1 week first, which was a disaster). It seemed like a miracle - the first 2 months of K went by without any of the nightmarish problems and daily phone calls of preschools. But this last week he has suddenly reverted to those old behaviors, and has gotten in quite a bit of trouble at school, and talks about death a lot at home and at school. I think its positive effects may have stopped.

im 15 and i use to take vyvanse, it makes me really sweaty. i got very irritable and upset; even a little paranoid when i took vyvanse.
