HI! My husband has had ADHD since he was a child. He took Ritalin until he was 18 and then teplaced it with smoking because he didn't like the effects of the medicine. My son has also been diagnosed but is in cognitive/behavioral therapy without medication. Now...the big question....
My husband gets bored very easily and rather than finding constructive to do with that boredom such as helping out with the housework, laundry, car maintenance, etc. he gets easily addicted to other activities. This is very frustrating for me and the addictions last until he gets bored with them. These range from very mild, such as gaming on the X-box or Facebook games, to severe and damaging activities. The worst thing he has done in his stated "boredom" is initiate paid memebrships on several almost pornographic singles sites where he sends lude and sexual fantasy like messages to women.
Does this sounsd like something related to ADHD or is he just falling back on that as an excuse?
I am trying to be patient until after the holidays and then he is getting an ultimatum...seek help or leave. Of course, I am trying to prepare for the worst.
Please...any honest advice is appreciated.

Having said that, ADHD is a reason maybe, but it's not an excuse, and if anything is to turnaround he will need to take ownership and stop doing what he is doing that is going to potentially destroy his marriage...
Sorry and hope he does get the help he needs for himself and for your own peace of mind...
