Do not know what to do today. My ADHD son has been getting worse and worse. He is about to graduate from college and get married and I think the stress is driving him crazy. He is so out of control all the time. Tells us over and over we don't love him, do enough for him, pay enough attention to him....his younger brother is suffering from depression and so we are trying to make sure we talk to him and Zachary is so jealous of everyone minute that is not about him.
Last night he spent half of it yelling at us for not being able to help him switch his phone number over. Then in a sudden mood shift he came up the stairs in new clothes and jumped in front of me. I said oh you have a new shirt and a new vest. He freaked out as I had not said I liked it or he looked nice right away. So he ran for his room, but swung out and smacked me across the back of the head on his way out.
I went after him and made him apologize and told him it was not acceptable, but he as usual burst into tears and made it all about how I don't ever show him I love him. Good grief he runs us ragged with all his demands and fits that we have to do stuff for him. I had to call and make him doc appointment when he was sick, wash the blood out of his pillow when his nose bled, drive him everywhere when his car was in the shop, but it is never enough.
This is the only child who ever shows he loves me, but I am tired of putting up with all his crap and do not know what to do about the slap. He has never ever struck me and although I know he didn't think it was hard or a big deal I do. I want him out of my house and away from me, but it breaks my heart to feel that way about my child and my other two kids could care less if they never saw me again...so how do I deal with that.
Going to be a hard day to get through.

I am new to this site, today actually I came for my own "strength" as my 9 year old is going through tests to give him a diagnosis.
I hope it helps to know your not alone, when you do feel alone..at least I do at times! I came here to help myself realize others go through this, its not what we have done or haven't done.

I would be worried if I was his future wife and knew the things he did. But a mothers love is always there and it's hard to let go even if it is in her own best mental health interest. Doesn't mean you won't love them, you just have to save yourself. My sister had to do it. very, Very hard.
