I have been told by the school that the extended school year program is not suited for my son. He has an IEP and will be going into spec ed full time last year. If he does not get extended school year, he will not be eligible for OT this summer. He will regress if he misses out on this service. He is behind academically as well. he clearly needs ESY. Can they tell me it is not 'designed' for him.....

I THINK they can suggest but you make the desion. I think not sure.

It just doesnt seem fair that they can tell me something is not designed for him. I mean, c'mon I know that. Life is not designed for him. But, at school that is where the accomodations come in....

Join the Autism community. Whether or not your son has autism, he does have sensory issues and you can probebly relate to alot of the other parents. PLUS, many parents are very educated about their children's rights and what the school can/cannot do. Check it out, ask for information about accomodations, special education, mainstreaming, IEP's, 504's. You name it. Doesn't hurt to look.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
