I Googled: Dexetrine and Tourette Syndrome and what came up was somewhat alarming! Every result of information stated the same thing...see your doctor if you are experiencing this side effect.

I guess I will going on a trip to my doctor tomorrow...I will report back with what she told me.

I have noticed that my face has been involuntarily doing this grimace "thing"...but I never realized how often I was doing it until my son commented on it this afternoon. He asked me why I was making faces at him, and that it was hurting his feelings...I wasn't sure what he was talking about at first and then he said that I was doing it again...it freaked me out as I wasn't aware it was happening at the same time I was trying to figure out why he thought I was making "faces" at him.

It is very scary but people do okay . Small world. My son has a mild case of both. Tourettes and ADHD are linked. Perhaps the meds are bringing out the twitches. Its worth asking the doc, as there are other meds besides Dex. They all have diff impact.

I know several people with Tourettes, my sister is one. The symptoms usually develope at an early age. You are probably (though i am not a medical professional) suffering from some side effects of a med. From what I have read, experienced by being a Sp. Ed. teacher, and knowing others who have had similiar side effects, sometimes they get better as your body gets use to the meds, sometimes it is best to tell your doctor and try something else. Trial and error with meds is not always a bad thing. Good luck

I mentioned this to my mom and told me that when I was a child that I did the eye and face grimace "thing"... and she also said that she has noticed that I do it when I am angry or stressed and tired...interesting...so, I asked my husband and he told me that he thought that it was a habit thing for me with my glasses...I tend to touch the side of my glasses when I do this tic...
I have an appointment with my "shrink" next Thursday, so I will definately be mentioning the tic and exploring some ideas and options on how to STOP...or at least manage it...

Tourette’s syndrome tics are not twitches. They are very different. Twitches are uncontrollable spasms. Tics are uncontrollable, but are purposefully done. They are NOT spasms. Please learn the difference. All twitches and spasms are not Tourette’s. Tourette’s is a very specific set of criteria. What you are talking about is a side effect of Dexedrine, which is speed!
