I as just wondering how many of you take natural thyroid meds vs synthroid. I take nature thyroid 65mg and synthroid 25mcg and I have had two Drs want me to switch to nature thyroid only. I know nature thyroid has both t3 and t4 and snythroid only t4. Anyway whats your experience with it. My hair is still falling and Im cold at times and exhausted not sure if ita from thyroid are not ,since I have lyme anyay tell me your experience. Thanks Darla

Your doctors know more about your desease than we do, I would say listen to them and just try it. I have talked to alot of people that do alot better on the natural stuff than the synthroid. Not many doctors work with T3 so if your doctor is willing, then I wouls at least try it. You might feel tons better.

Thanks for input. Cant hurt to try if I notice no improvment I can always switch back. Any improvment ould be better then the hell Im going through. Thanks.God Bless Darla

I take Armour Thyroid meds. It seems to be helping with my hair loss and energy. I take this with my cortisol. I hope that helps, but your doctors will know what will work for your situation. I hope you feel better.

I was diagnosed with Secondary Addisons Disease in 1995. For yearss felt terrible with low blood pressure, vomiting and no energy. I have had alot of steriods each time ended up in hospital for asthma. The doctor at the hospital 2 years ago 2009 finally realized after blood test that I have Primary Addisons Disease. I now take 20mg hydrocortisone a day plus 0.2mcg of fludrocortisone (which has to be kept in the fridge)
I now have underactive thyroid problems and am on 75mg of Levothyroxine. plus inhalers for asthma.
I am finding it hard to cope. I now have a lump on my arm and have had a biopsy and waiting for the results. My GP doesn't seem to know much about Addisons Disease and the Consultant and the hospital is the consultant for diabetics. Seems like no one know much about Addisons Disease in the UK. Even when I was rushed into hospital with an asthma the Ambulance staff had never heard of Addisons. Maybe I should get a braclet to wear in case of emergency as I am Sterid Dependant. I have felt so alone until I found this site yesterday.
