I'm sorry to hear that your wife is not doing well. I remember that on one of her last posts she's on a very low dose of hydrocortisone. It's really hard to feel well on a low dose when you have multiple illnesses. I have multiple problems too. I take almost double what your wife was taking the last time she posted. I take 30 mg a day. I've had Addison's over 15 years now. The last 6 months have been the healthiest of the 15 years. It was getting my other diseases under control, and then slowly adding exercise that finally gave me my life back. You can feel better. It does take a lot of time to get better. I'll keep you in my prayers. You might want to check out on Facebook the group Living With Addison's. they have a lot of medical knowledge available and over 1,000 active members.

Life whether we have Addison's or some other disease, there are never any guarantees in life on how long we are here. I agree with 22Lynn that getting all your diseases under control is a great first step but being able to start exercising very small amounts and working up to daily exercise is so important. I have read other posts from people who have had Addison's plus other auto-immune diseases for over 20 years and are still doing well.

I can speak only to Addison's and hypothyroidism, as these are the conditions I have. Doc's have always told me that, so long as I medicate properly, I will lead a normal life, in quality and duration. As the "quality" part has proved true for over 15 years, I tend to believe the duration part too.

I'm careful to eat well--every day, every meal, every snack--and I'm very active. I think these things--diet and exercise--are bigger determinants of life quality and duration than my diseases are.
