Sherri7, I totally get where you are coming from; feeling truly out of balance and just not getting the answers you need to help the situation can really make you feel blue. This disease of ours is a life sentence and unless you have it, it is very difficult to understand the daily ups and downs we go through. There are many of us out here who support you and can relate.
Try to stay strong and put faith in God; I know that helps me!

Sheri and Webber I have to say one word about what you both said and that word is "AMEN" !!!!!! Sheri,,, my blood pressure goes from low to high then high to low....sometimes a headache from high BP and dizzy, tired and weak from low BP...I am currently on BP meds for high BP... I agree the heart monitor for the 30 days is a good thing for your doctor to be doing. I had to do the same thing also. I have an irregular heartbeat, so I am on medication for that too. I too suffer from nausea each and every morning. My fatigue is terrible. I rarely get through grocery shopping without asking hubbie to finish my list and check-out while I go sit and drink a bottle of water while I am sweating profusely. I do understand and I get so frustrated when I get comments like... "Well, if you don't have enough energy why don't you just stay at home all the time and I'll make the decisions." (from hubbie) Rude......yes it is,,,, selfish..yes it is... remember he's 70 years old and I am 53,,,someday I will be taking care of him as he enters the end of his life...will I be rude to him and say mean and terrible things to him about what he CAN'T DO???? NO !!! I have to bite my tongue daily... to prevent myself from becoming rude back at him....just because he does not understand sometimes. Webber is so right about "FAITH" without it...I don't know where I'd be right about now...I had a major abdominal surgery to remove a large non-cancerous tumor that was giving me spinal/leg pain just about 3 months ago and just can't get my MOJO back...since then Hubbie expects me just to snap back like a willow tree and be my old self again even when I feel bad. So, Sheri sweetie.... I am right in the boat with you honey.. a lot of us on this forum are in the boat with you...but you know what???? Jesus is in that boat too.....(not preaching a sermon here or anything) but..your not alone !!! Nor will you ever be..."HE" is faithful.... I hope this little note helps you.. feel free to make me a friend we can message back and forth...if you'd like that..I know I sure would. :-) Tears are very helpful,,,and a release too...besides having a congested nose afterwards...LOL.... they release tension....Oh and BTW you said you've stopped talking to your family about how you feel... I'd advise against doing that...communication is so valuable...even when it's not joy-filled, happy conversation...family needs to know how your feeling/doing,,,,always because,,if you start to go south,,,and have a crisis or anything,,, they need to know that you were not feeling well so you can get the best treatment possible at the hospital.....that's just my humble opinion tho...I do care.. :-) sometimes it's just nice for someone to say those words to you... three little words that mean so very much to someone who's just not feeling so great.... oh maggie thank you so much for your kind words and thank you too webber!!!!! it is so depressing when you have so many bad days. it seems that no matter which doctor i talk to they think if i take my meds life will be "normal". well that is so untrue.....i have taken my meds for 9 years. i have been worse the last year or so but i understand that i have been on steroids for 9 years and that is hard on your body also of course i am 9 years older. whatever the reason things have gotten harder.
i will take your advice and talk to my family but i just hate to say i feel bad so much!!!
i am on high BP meds. i had very low BP before AD but a couple of years after taking cortef my BP became high as did my cholesterol. they told me that was a side effect of steroids
i have felt sorry for myself today so i really appreciate you comments. i will bounce back....i always do. this site has been a blessing to me.
oh yeah i today when i get up and do any activity my BP spikes...so go figure!!

i hear ya.i feel so bad for my my mom sometimes..i hate to talk to her about my problems..i think i gave her a nervous breakdown.i hope you feel better

I am a relatively new victim of Addison's disease and am also subject to wide swings in BP. I am currently on lebetalol and amlodipine (for the BP). I have to take BP readings several times a day and adjust the number of pills.

It's a scary thing, as I had a stroke and a heart attack, both perhaps caused by Addison's.

I used to get pretty severe swings in blood pressure throughout the day and really bad nausea in the morning. After tracking my symptoms and comparing them to when I was taking my medications/how long it had been since I last took it and my sodium in take I noticed a few things but the biggest one was it has been awhile since I'd taken my medication and my sodium intake was low for the day. I remedied this by breaking up my medication into smaller more frequent doses, increased my sodium intake, and the morning nausea was taken care of by setting an alarm a couple hours before I woke for the day and taking a bit of HC and my daily fludro with a dash of salt (I keep a salt shaker by my bed with my meds), if you have to take food with your steroids keep some peanut butter or crackers nearby and eat some of that along with your meds. In doing this I have been able to keep my blood pressure pretty steady and it's not as hard to get up in the mornings.

Oh and I wanted to add one more thing...our bodies natural cycle of cortisol is highest in the wee morning hours around 4 or 5am and lowest at night. Since we aren't producing cortisol naturally and are having to supplement, trying to keep the same cycle is hard but the closer we can get to that the better off we'll be :) Or atleast that's what I've personally noticed.

I appriciate all comments. I am so frustrated with this whole BP thing. I just can't get my BP regulated. Today my BP has been 80/64 and I have felt so washed out. Who knows tomorrow it might be sky high. Yesterday I was very nauseated and this morning too. I have a doctor apt on the 20th of this month so I hope he can give me an idea on what to do. It is with my family doctor....I can't see my endo until next month. I am soo glad it's not just me....at least I am not alone in this crazy boat.

i just realized that gash said she was taking sodium. my doctor has never mentioned sodium. do you take a blood test for that? i wonder if i should ask about it at my next visit.

The Florinef/Fludrocortisone we take does NOT work unless you eat salt. It's whole purpose is to help us retain salt and excrete potassium.

That med is the only way I can get my blood pressure above 100!
