Hi, I'm on 50mg of DHEAS, I'm female, 57 yrs. I feel loads better, since taking this stuff. I was on 25mg per day, but, didn't feel any effect, eg: mood, skin,hair , sex drive. So I upped my self, endo says levels are fine, keep doing what I'm doing.
Without DHEAS I'm sad, feeling so low I can't begin to tell, you what it makes me feel.hope this helps feel free to ask me any question. Oh yes I've been on them since 2007.

My internist put me on it as well. My dhea is always really low barely there actually, on saliva and blood test. I started with 25 mg then slowly increased it to 40, then my estrogen went thru the roof finally after researching myself I realized the dhea was converting to estrogen so I lowered it, of course every time dr checks my level she tries to bump it up again I keep telling her I can't take more then 25 mg r it just coverts to estrogen r test. I take testosterone as well. I already have a severe female horm imbalance so I don't need to make it worse. So she finally talked me in to trying to take more esp this summer when I went into a crisis. So I did, soon noticed my face and hair was so oily it was awful, so had to go back to 25 mg I wish I could take more but for some reason my body converts it to estrogen r test. And that's with the 7 keto dhea which is not suppose to convert. I do hear it helps many so it might be worth a try for u but keep in mind it can convert. I am 17 years your senior...when I was your age I was on 50mg/day..I felt much better on it ( more energy, clearer mentally AND it restored shall we say..my "hair" legs armpits etc...which was gone).
As I have aged I am now on 12.5/day as I continue to have my menstrual cycle occasionally ( I know it is bizarre ..of all the endocrine systems..).
Do you obtain medical grade DHEA from a pharmacy or a compounding pharmacy ? That quarantees that it is bioactive, which over the counter often is not.

I do get it compounded at a pharmacy, I think if I could get it not to convert it would help me feel better, that's the 7keto which is not suppose to convert. I wonder if it's my age? Not sure I have a terrible female horm imbalance as well. Is there anything else, I can do that any one knows of? Thanks Darla

Any of u on testosterone as well as dhea?

I was on 1mg of testosterone sub lingual for years ( from a compounding pharmacy) for years..until last year when I began to have terrible body odor ( I bathe) , oily hair....my levels were 40x normal.! I have not taken it fir about a yrar. I felt much better on it...more energy etc.
I assume that the compounding pharmacy mis compounded the medication, as my levels are very low once again.
I use estrogen .5 gm twice a week...no other hormones.
It's an adventure, huh?

A adventure from hell what it is lol, on progesterone no estrogen I don't know I can't seem to figure it out get it balanced. I have horrible menopause symptoms daily. Maybe u need test again. Thanks for ur input I wonder if I didn't take test. Just dhea maybe I could take more dhea, who knows?
