Welcome to the group! I have found this support group very helpful in understanding my Addison's and realizing that I am lucky to be in as good health as I am compared to so many others who are truly suffering.

I am just coming out of a crisis. I had to have an emergency shot yesterday. Today I am feeling much better but weak.

Good Morning Sunshine.... I totally LOVE your DOGGIES!!! They are so precious. I have a Chihuahua, she is my daughter with fur....LOL She was supposed to be 3-5 pounds said the breeder,,,,but she is 12.5 pounds. Our winter home is in TEXAS and our summer home is in Minnesota. Down in TEXAS she loves to eat hot stuff, chili, salsa and chips, up here in Minnesota....(man is she spoiled) we have to hand feed her a piece of dog food at a time or she won't eat anything...My chi will even eat beans and cornbread. Was the song "Sunshine" wrote by John Denver? I am not sure. You can google it. I am new to Addison's was just diagnosed 2 months ago even though my Endo thinks I've had it for years, low blood pressure and all the symptoms that goes along with it. They used to tell me it was all in my head...Medical Doctors actually told me that in front of my husband, many of them... NOW I know it's not in my head and it is something real, I have satisfaction and relief and peace now, just having the correct diagnosis. Hope you get to feeling stronger so very soon !!! Thanks, TX. Aren't dogs the greatest!! Your little one sounds like a hoot! There is another picture of my little guy in my photo album. He has the sweetest personality. When he walks you'd think he was from Texas as he acts like there is a gun holster around his hips and he just strutting his stuff.
Do you have trouble with the climate change with the Addison's? I live in AZ and the heat gets me every summer & it seems to be getting worse so we are moving. I'd like to move back to Michigan where my family is but a little afraid the cold climate would be bad for the Addison's too. I heard extremes are not good for this condition.
Glad to hear you finally got a diagnosis. It's a relief for sure and now you have this wonderful site too. This disease is so rare that most docs don't know much about it.
I'm feeling stronger today just bummed that this has changed my life so much. I had to cancel a day trip with a couple girlfriends up to Sedona for a retreat...hiking, spirit dancing & yoga. It seems my only thrills lately are the grocery stores! Ha!

John Denver is correcto. Remember he was killed in a small plane crash... it seems like it was a long time ago.

I am a newbie here myself. I haven't even had my diagnosis a week yet. I'm a mess. Not my usual positive, chill self. I also have CVID another rare immune disorder. I thought I had been given enough at that point then along comes Addison's. Everyone says things like, 'oh, no problem, just take some meds and you are fine'. I know that is a crock. They did the same thing with CVID, just take your infusions and all will be fine. ah, not really. I went onto a message center for the Addison's Foundation website and the first thing I saw was a picture of a gorgeous, young blond girl who was being eulogized. She was only 22 and I just passed from 'complications' from Addison's. As I scrolled down I saw several others, all within the last couple months. What the ?? I wasn't surprised as much as I was shocked. My goodness. I am also old enough to remember the day the John Kennedy was taken out of the White House on a stretcher from an Addisonian attack. He was lucky. People were still dying from Addison's in the 60's at an alarming rate. Not trying to be morbid here, but I have some concerns.

I am going for my IVIG infusion today and hope to learn a little more about how Addison's meds are going to work with my infusions. This not going to be easy. Oh well, what is these days anyways. The one thing I can count on is the soft place to fall, here amongst all of the folks in much the same position as myself.

I hope you've had your infusion by now and you are resting and maybe looking up a little. I was reading on the internet the other day and you'll never guess who they are 90% sure had Addison's Disease... Osama bin Laden...... He had all the classic symptoms for years. I goggled it and read about it. Pretty interesting. Although he really never took the "correct" medications, he did take something, I forgot the name. Also, one of the "Shriver Family" had Addison's too as well as JFK like you mentioned. I went back on my Celebrex today for my arthritis. We are in Minnesota now for the summer and it is cold up here. Going to get down to 33 degrees tomorrow night. I am used to the TEXAS weather the heat helps the "Old Arthritis" LOL I just hope my tummy can tolerate the Celebrex, it works so well for me for my arthritic pain. Well, got to go wash the dishes...(my dishwasher is down at the boat dock trying to sink a few minnows) LOL So, I will do them... Chili is in the crock pot for supper...mine will be topped with chopped onions and lots of "Salty" Fritos and shreaded cheese.... OH MY did I make someone hungry? God Bless, ~TXMaggieMN~

Hi there, welcome to the group! I am new here myself.

I live in northern Idaho where we get warm summers and very cold winters. I find that I am affected much more by the heat then the cold. Being too hot makes me dizzy, and light headed and I have to take more hydrocortisone, in the winter I just keep warm and suffer no other side affects. So for me personally I would prefer the cold to the heat.

That is so good to hear. I can't go outdoors in the summers here in AZ for the same reasons. It's tiring being indoors with no fresh air.
