My dear friends.
I know that each one of you is at different place on this journey, both mentally and physically. Today marks Jay's 75th day post transplant and he is doing great. For now, that is all we know and for now that is just enough to make us dance and sing. I'd like to share my daughter Alex's caringbridge post for today. I hope it lifts your spirit and your heart as it did mine.

Psalm 75:1 We give thanks to You, O God, we give thanks!

"I don't know if any of you have continued to pray the psalms with us, but I have to say it has been such a gift and a blessing to me! Today is no different. You read that right, today is day 75!!! We are already 3/4 of the way through Jay's 100 days and today we are giving thanks to God for so many things!!

Today we thank God that we have made it this far with no major setbacks. Jay is still getting stronger and stronger each day. He looks great! His counts are doing what they need to, his energy is up, he is tolerating the Sorafenib and other medicines well, he has not really been effected by any germs. The provider at the clinic even mentioned the "D word" the other day for the first time...meaning we may be getting closer to being discharged from the clinic! Thank you Lord! We also got the ok to go on a short trip to the beach next week with all of the Young Life staff from North Carolina which will be a HUGE gift for the both of us to be encouraged by our friends in prayer and fellowship.

Thank you God for being with us every step of the way... for providing for us in every way, for sustaining us when things have been hard, for giving us hope through Jesus and through your words written just for us. Thank you for how people have loved us and taken care of us.... family, friends, church, people we don't even know.

Sometimes it is hard to wrap our heads around how and why other people have such a hard time with treatment and transplants and then why Jay has (relatively) breezed through 2 of these things now. We can't imagine or put it together why God would allow some of the folks fighting this disease to be healed forever and some of them not. Jay and I cannot answer these types of questions, nor can we understand why we were put in this particular battle, but we thank God that He has made clear to us who He is and who we are through His Son Jesus. We are just two sinful people who are eternally loved because of grace and nothing else. We don't believe for a second that we deserve to be any better off than anyone else going through this struggle but today, on our day 75, we just simply give thanks that He has brought us this far and that there is always hope in His redemption for our bodies and our souls.

Thank you dear Jesus for all who read this and for those who pray for us so much. Thank you all for journeying with us! Here's to conquering this last quarter!"
