Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML) Support Group
Acute myelogenous leukemia (AML), also known as acute myeloid leukemia, is a cancer of the myeloid line of blood cells. Patients with AML usually present with symptoms such as fatigue, bleeding, infection, prompting medical attention. An abnormal blood test reading will then result in further testing in a hospital with a hematologist to determine AML.
I have always believed there was a silver lining in most situations. Ha, this has been a bit harder to find. But...Here it is for me:
I have grown spiritualy. Oh boy have I ever.
My husband and I have drawn closer.
People I have never met have expressed love and support.
Petty things are of little importance now.
I am more forgiving.
That is a start anyway. What can I pull out of this that is good.
Any input?

When I read your posts in this discussion, I felt releived...
I have felt the same way you write.... grateful for having rediscovered and granted a new life, a new chance....
I experienced so much love from so many people and I couldnt imagine I was so dear to them.
I was also close to death during induction chemo. I was scared to death but holding to life and asking God not to leave me. And.... just like you said..... my hearth found peace when I understood that whatever happened, it was the best for me. I was being taken care and supported by God.... I asked for healing, of course, but my heart found calm and peace when I could ask for God will be done...
I feel a great connection with your words.... just like I felt.

That induction is something else. I am glad you made it through. I guess God has plans for us. I will never forget the peace I felt when I completely surrendered to God. I also prayed for healing if it be his will.
I also had so much love pouring in from family, friends and people I didn't even know. My daughter in law set up a blog for me. So there were all kinds of messages of encouragement, prayers and so much love. That was a huge silver lining.
We have been granted a new life, Shimauta, lets grab it with both hands.

Gloria, your words have moved me deeply. Yes, we can say thanks. I cant share it most people because I felt It is so intimate and cant be misunderstood... yes, it might sound like a cliche..... but its not.
