I have not been very good about posting here - apologies. Please know you all remain in my thoughts and prayers. Just a tough time for me emotionally, I think. Keir is at Day +26 after his bone marrow transplant. He is doing quite well. Lack of appetite, some vomiting, and fatigue have been his main issues. His counts are quite good - we go to clinic twice a week and he is seen by a visiting nurse once or twice a week. He has not needed any transfusions since leaving the hospital though he does get magnesium and sometimes IV fluids.

He had a visitor Sunday, which was nice for him, though he had to wear a mask the whole time, which he hates. The weather here was nice enough for a walk outside yesterday - first time since October - and we walked around the block. He exercises daily though usually indoors. Food has been a nemesis, and he relies a lot on the institutional type of Ensure Clears (not those sold in stores) which I order from Abbott Foods and go down easily and are 200 calories per juice box. He hopes his taste buds and appetite return so eating is not such a chore.

The emotional side of this from a caregiver perspective has been very tough. You are so geared up for the transplant - in our case it was a bit of a battle getting there, though not compared to what some face - and then it's over and you are faced with a huge chunk of time of largely waiting. As a nervous type, staying positive is tough but extremely important.
