Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML) Support Group

Acute myelogenous leukemia (AML), also known as acute myeloid leukemia, is a cancer of the myeloid line of blood cells. Patients with AML usually present with symptoms such as fatigue, bleeding, infection, prompting medical attention. An abnormal blood test reading will then result in further testing in a hospital with a hematologist to determine AML.

Dear All,

My 56 old brother was dxd with a fast growing, hard to treat form of non hodgkins b cell lymphoma, stage four a few weeks ago. He just completed his fourth round of chemo of a total of eight. On Tuesday he will have aPET scan to determine if his cancer is responding to the chemo. I humbly request your prayers for a positive test result. Bless you for your prayers

I have already started praying for Lee -- May God help his med team to do all the right things to restore him to health. We know the power of prayer and we are taught to be persistent in it. If he has had four rounds of chemo in four weeks I would expect that he is not feeling well at all. We pray that the tests will show progress -- dave

Praying for you and your brother today Julie. I pray that the PET scan shows that the chemo is doing it's job and that your brother will be able to beat this. We lost my dad to brain cancer and then a year later Jo was diagnosed with AML. Sometimes it seems so unfair that one family has to deal with so much but you are a strong person and will be a great support for your brother! May God give you the peace and grace to get you and your brother through this.

Thank you ask so much for your prayers. My Dear brothers asked me to thanks each of you, as well. He received the results of his pet scan yesterday which showed that the chemo has shrunk some of his lymphoma. He has four more sessions of chemo and a subsequent pet scan to check for results. Also, his subtype of nhl likes to hide out in bone marrow so he'll have a bmb. Did I mention he hates needles. He is optimistic and believes fervently in the power of prayer.
