Sending prayer, do not worry, this is very common during treatment. With WBC that low, it could just be a nutrapenic fever, w no infection. they will do a blood culture and get her on broad band antibiotics then adjust the meds as needed per results
This is very scary but since she's slready admitted its my guess they already have started this process.

Yes, infections are very common. My husband had one in the hospital after chemo. Took awhile, but eventually was ok. He is also home walking around with 0.3 WBC while participating in a clinical trial. Prayers being sent.

My husband was just readmitted to the hospital today with a fever. His wbc is .02 and he was doing great. Hopefully your sister and my husband will be fine. Everyone says to err on the side of caution.

I agree with Lea. Jo is in the best place she could be right now. They will get it all figured out anr under control.

I prayed for Jo at my desk today when I first read your post. I am convinced God will heal her. As others have said, she is in the right place. Her immune system has been able to protect her during her treatment thus far. She will get through this. Jo is on our prayer list.

Praying for Jo. Being back in the hospital is no fun, I had a similar issue about this same time last year and was put back in the hospital in the ICU with a fever. There will be some setbacks like this but the main thing is she is still in remission and progressing forward with her treatment. You are a good sister, she is lucky to have you with her to fight this battle.

Jo is doing much better but is still in the hospital. They won't release her until her WBC is 1 and right now it is at 0.4. She is having another blood transfusion today so hopefully that will help. Hopefully she will be out in time for Thanksgiving! Thanks for the prayers!

Debbie -- that is great news. She just needs to really be careful to stay away from people and all unknown surfaces -- she does not need another one. Most all of use had our share of infections. I think I had four or five -- really did not count them. The worst ones were the ones I got at home between consolidation rounds. I could not believe that I was home, and next thing you know I have an infection and have to go back in. I even bluffed it for a while not telling my wife thinking it would go away by itself ... of course, no such luck and I was back in the next day. We all are praying for Jo -- take care, this thing will be over before too much longer and she will be home for good. -- daveB

Well, I guess I posted too soon. My sister has taken a turn for the worse, diarrhea is back with a vengeance. They are testing for C-diff. She is not allowed any visitors and they are scrubbing down her room with clorox cleaners. Her WBC is back down to 0.2. Hopefully if it is C-diff, they can get a handle on it pretty quickly. Should get results of test today I believe. Thanks for continued prayers.

I am so sorry to hear this set back. C diff is so so common. I think me and cliff are the only ones that escaped without getting it. I pray this will resolve soon and jo can make it home for thanksgiving

C diff is extremely contagious, and you will have to put on a protective robe when you visit with her. It is controllable and if she is diagnosed with it they will give her the appropriate antibiotics. But in the meantime, I expect they have told you and others not to take any chances. Please keep us up on the situation, and we will be praying fervently that the problem is nothing like this. -- dave

Jo is in my prayers. They told my son he had c diff after his transplant and put him on antibotics for it. He started feeling better in a couple ofdays.

Hi Jo, praying for Debbie. I had c-diff in the hospital. The antibiotics did a pretty good job of clearing up the diarrhea. I hope she feels better soon.
