Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML) Support Group
Acute myelogenous leukemia (AML), also known as acute myeloid leukemia, is a cancer of the myeloid line of blood cells. Patients with AML usually present with symptoms such as fatigue, bleeding, infection, prompting medical attention. An abnormal blood test reading will then result in further testing in a hospital with a hematologist to determine AML.
I will be 5 years post diagnosis come March and 4.5 years post transplant. I am wishing the best to all of the soldiers who are still fighting the enemy. Be positive and you will come out whole.
Merry Christmas to all.
Cliff
I was three years post transplant on the 21st. I consider myself a walking miracle. If I can survive so can you. Keep fighting, stay determined and be your own advocate. Don't take no for an answer and you will beat this disease and enjoy many years with your friends and families. Good luck and Merry Christmas to all.

Like Dave, I am a chemo only survivor nearing 3 years since DX in March, praise God! Tonight I attended candle light service with my precious family-so touching. I was reminded that our God is a promise keeper. Through His prophet Isaiah, 735 years before The Christ's birth, He promised:
Isaiah 7:14New Life Version (NLV)
14So the Lord Himself will give you a special thing to see: A young woman, who has never had a man, will give birth to a son. She will give Him the name Immanuel. God with us
After church, we spent the evening with my dear brother who many of toy prayed for receiving chemo/radiation for NHL. He is healthy and in remission. Our God is a healer and a promise keeper.
May He bless us all.
Julie
I just breathed in the happiness of all of your posts. It is a heady and wonderful feeling, and should encourage all of the brave souls who are still in the midst of the process. There is a very bright light at the end of the tunnel....for sure!

French has been a passion of mine since high school, but I am no where as fluent as my son. Now he has a very nice Quebecois accent after 5 years at the MNI.
I am thrilled that you are doing so well. Comments like yours are what give encouragement to those who are still going through these annoying treatments.
Happy New Year to you and your family!
