So good to hear great news. I don't know the exact subtype of my aml but it has been confirmed to me that i am in a favorable type. November 20th of this year will be my first year anniversary of remission. I went through 4 rounds of chemo but no transplant. I actually feel great energetic and healthy. Such a difference from last year it feels like a miracle.

Congrats on reaching one year in remission. Are you counting from your remission after induction? I know everyone counts differently. I had inversion 16 and have been in post induction remission for 17 months. God is my healer!!!

So sorry for forgetting your name (bou). I am so happy to hear you are doing so well. I favorable subtype is all you need to know. The two options are inversion 16 or translocation 18:21 which is the sub type Dave Brown had and he is five years out, chemo only. The third favorable sub type is apl which is treated differently and had a95% cure rate. May Almighty God continue to bless you.

Hi Bou,
Good to hear about your prolonged remission. The further removed from the horrible day of dx the better I feel about everything. Aug 3 2012 is a day I will never forget as most on this site. The anxiety was bad the first year but has subsided greatly. Noodle65 is a mainstay on
this site and has helped many. Again, it is good to hear success and is reaffirming that this can be cured.

Sorry I kind of disappeared for a while. It happens haha. The post treatment bmb went well. It showed I had 0% blasts which I thought at one point wasn't even attainable. This has been such a journey both mentally and physically and I'm glad I am able to move forward in the positive direction. I did manage a slight sinus irritation this week. I guess after going through this whole process with no sickness or infections that I had to get sick again eventually. But, I'm really thankful for this group and thankful to God that I have something very special to be thankful for this year! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Such outstanding news!!!!! You have done so well and what a blessing to be treated at MDA with the latest chemo. I'm glad you were able to make it through without an infection and that your immune system was able to tackle your sinus infection. Now I pray you can put this phase of your young life behind you but please stay with us to help others with your heart success. Stories like yours give so many hope. I'm praising almighty God with you for His miracle of healing!!

Hello to all! I was wondering how everyone is doing? I am a 26 year old woman diagnosed with AML M4 (inv16) on 2.27.2017 started induction therapy the very next day and just finished my 3rd round of consolidation. This was my last 1 and I have all these worries and fears in my mind that have become difficult to shake. I have 2 young kids 10 & 3 and they are all that keep replaying in my mind. In every single one of my consolidation cycles I've had complications, pneumonia, c diff, typhlitis. What kind of consolidation did you all have ? How many mg ?

So sorry about your dx but inversion 16 is a favorable subtype. That coupled with your thing age are in your favor. I am 4 years 5 months since d's and nearing 4 years off treatment. I had four consolidations.

Although I was 48 when dxd I too had thing children, 8 10 and 12. My family just returned from 2 weeks in Northern Europe and our life is awesome. There is life after AML.

May I ask where you are being treated?
