This is GREAT -- congratulations, and thanks for posting this good news. Good news helps everyone. This is especially helpful to those who are worried about their numbers coming back, as I know the both of you were. We told you not to worry, but who are we to tell you that? No, its OK to worry, but we know that while sometimes for some people it take a whole lot longer than for others, eventually the new or cleansed bone marrow kicks in and there you are feeling just great! Praying for Jo, how is she doing after this round of chemo?

She is doing good. Of course her numbers dropped and she had to get platelets but we knew that was coming. If she doesn't get sick this time, the doctors want to increase the chemo back up 25% for her next round or have her do extra days at the lowered dose. He told her every time they have to lower the dose, it means extra treatments so she would rather they increase the dose back up if she can tolerate it.

I'm not sure why she has to keep going. Others on here have had induction and 4 rounds of consolidation and then stopped but she has now had 3 rounds of the stronger chemo and two rounds of the reduced chemo and he still wants her to continue. Anyone know why there would be a difference other than doctor's preference? She's doing good but it worries me.

How is your brother doing Julie? Keeping him in my prayers.

It may have to do with the length of time it has taken between the consolidation rounds of chemo. I'm glad she is tolerating the chemo more easily now. Praying for her cure.

I seems to me that Jo is/was on the same protocol at mda as amesch who also had inversion 16. I believe he did a total of seven sessions. As you know, I had for seasons of consolidation with reduced dose due to slow count recovery. Unlike Jo, I had absolutely no adverse reactions other than slow count recovery. I truly felt great throughout teleworking full time. I begged for the max chemo, literally. My teams protocol was four, only four. As I've said before, the first remission is the best remission so I would keep going, of it were me. Mda is one of the best. I just don't want jo looking back wishing she'd done more down the road.key to this process is putting our entire trust in almighty God and the med team He's blessed us with. I know that Jo likes to socialize and see her grandkids. But based on her last hospitalization for an infection, I would highly encourage her to curtail these activities especially now that we are at the height of the flu season. Praying that God will give her peace with her choices
