Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML) Support Group
Acute myelogenous leukemia (AML), also known as acute myeloid leukemia, is a cancer of the myeloid line of blood cells. Patients with AML usually present with symptoms such as fatigue, bleeding, infection, prompting medical attention. An abnormal blood test reading will then result in further testing in a hospital with a hematologist to determine AML.
I am thinking of you and wishing you the absolute best. Your faith and positive attitude will give you the strength to carry through and fight this disease. Stay strong - you are not alone in your fight. (((HUGS)))
The nurses and doctors at MDA will be on top of infections. I know they can be dangerous but you will pull through:). I relied on the nurses to get me through all the infections. My doctor's wife at MDA was a transplant doctor. If I relapse I would go to MDA because transplant is technical. If you are feeling well there is a really good restaurant up the street called Molina's Restaurant . It distracted us from realty and gave me a break from the hospital. Praying for you:). Blessings!
