Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML) Support Group
Acute myelogenous leukemia (AML), also known as acute myeloid leukemia, is a cancer of the myeloid line of blood cells. Patients with AML usually present with symptoms such as fatigue, bleeding, infection, prompting medical attention. An abnormal blood test reading will then result in further testing in a hospital with a hematologist to determine AML.

I too hope you will continue with us and provide lesions learned to others yet tho travel this path. We all have unique perspectives to share. There seems to bemore care givers on this site which makes your experience even more priceless.

So happy that Keir is doing well, just wanted to check on you both and see how you are doing?
Sending hugs,

Here is what Lori wanted me to pass on to your:
Re: Keir: If you could post that he is five months post transplant and his bloodwork is normal and he's feeling overall well, that we request continued prayers he would remain healthy and that next month they hope to start taking him off some of his medicines. Also, that his doctor said he could get a flu shot this fall. Thank you for that. I continue praying for everyone on DS of course.
I will continue to keep you up on Keir -- what a tremendous adventure he had -- do you recall all of the setbacks? Things really looked bleak for quite a while and Lori had to even take him to another hospital to get reasonable medical treatment. But he is doing fine now and should be an inspiration to all of us.
I know none of you will blame Lori or anyone else who really has a problem when things are not going well in this community. We KNOW that bad things are going to happen, and we pray that all of the good things can more than balance them out, but it is extremely difficult for everyone when there are setbacks.
Let's all continue to pray for Keir, Lori and her family -- her mother is aging quickly and not doing very well. They all need our prayers. Thank you all so much -- dave
PS -- I would be glad to relay any messages back to Lori.
"Keir is doing much the same, and we ask for prayers that his bloodwork continues to be good at his next clinic visit Wednesday the 30th I'd be grateful. He signed up for two classes this fall and is very anxious to get back to his life."
So, very good news.
If any of you would like for me to relay a message to her, please let me know on this thread. Please be praying for her, Keir and Lori's mother as well who has been suffering greatly over the past month or so. -- daveB
Thank you so much for the great update on Keir! Please tell Lori my family prayers for hers daily.
Julie
Thank you for the update I was thinking of Keir today and wondering how he was doing. Please let Lori know that we are thinking and praying for her, Keir and her mother.
