I haven't been on the site in a week or so, this morning I felt compelled to log on only to read this post. I've thought all day about Ed, Andrea and Ollie, people I would have never known if it wasn't for this site. I'm am so sad that this disease has taken another one of our soldiers. It's been an honor to fight along so many wonderful people. Ed you were a hero in my eyes.

I got on late tonight and was greeted by this terrible news. The love that we all have for Ed is overwhelming, and I appreciate everyone expressing it. We pray for Ed's family -- what a terrible loss this must be to them. So many on this forum have benefited from Ed. I am sure he would want us to do all that we can to continue our help for one another and to follow the example that he left us. This thread will be a great tribute and memorial to him. Thanks Abby for letting us know so that we could express the love that we still have for him -- it will never die -- dave

I am so sorry to hear this devastating news about Ed. I haven't been around here long but he was a great help to me regarding my Mum's treatment.

I just saw this and I am devastated, sobbing. I am very, very upset. I apologize, I don't know what to say right now. Sal has been in treatment and I have been wondering about Ed, hoping he was doing ok. RIP Ed, you will be missed by so many, many people to whom you have given encouragement and joy. Love you.

I made the mistake of signing on to DS tonight after a wonderful day with my two 91 year old parents and brother. I actually was laughing with my family as we reminisced about some funny memories. And I actually forgot about my grief. I should not have read all of your notes, because now I am a blithering mess. I am so glad my eldest daughter, Amy, got to meet Eddie. When I told her about his passing, she too cried. There just aren't enough tears to fill the void that Eddie has left us. I know that I should rejoice that I am still here to write this. It just seems so unfair.

I miss Ed, I have missed him for a while. He will always be a part of my memory. He was a special man. I Thank God for having met Ed through this forum. He has left me with a feeling of thankfulness, love and hope, that this disease will be conquered.

I told Chen when she is ready, she should come on DS and see what a huge part of our lives Ed was and how much he was loved here.

I have no words........I am speechless, Eddie was there for me, from the day we found out my Father had AML......then when he passed three weeks later. I was brought to my knees with grief, Eddie was there. Rest in peace my friend. I hope to meet you when it is my time. I give love and support to your wife and Family.
