My thoughts go out to Eds wife and his immediate family. This disease has taken so many wonderful people,people who didn't hesitate to give of their time even though they were fighting their own battle.

I never vomited once during all of my treatments. Right now (not to be gross), I just lost my breakfast. I got to meet Ed on two occasions. Ed was one of the first to reach out to encourage and inspire many of us here. Words cannot describe the void left by his passing. My prayer is that he is finally at peace and without pain and suffering in the embrace of Almighty God.

I felt terrible since the morning and now I know why. Rest in peace Eddie.

I too work this morning with a terrible feeling... I mailed him yesterday and I had not got a response... I emailed my daughter as she follows him on twitter and she gave me the news.

We have lost a dear friend, a brave warrior and a fantastic actor.

So incredibly sad. No words. I had been in touch with him by email and was following his treatment. I too emailed him yesterday and didn't hear back. I am just so, so sad about this news. A true warrior. Rest in peace, Eddie, you were much loved.

I am truly heartbroken. I had the great pleasure of getting to know and spend time with Ed while He and Jimmy were both at Sloan through induction and transplant. The first time I saw Ed he was walking the halls giving high-fives to the nurses. While I dont come on DS very often I have kept in contact with Ed and my last text from him was 1 week ago, he sent me a picture of himself giving me a thumbs up. Ed even while fighting his own battles was such a great support to both me and Jimmy and will always hold a special place in my heart.

what sad news for one of the most likeable guys... he helped me a lot early last year since my mum was diagnosed.
