Happy New Year, everyone!

I wish I had more time to spend on here. I follow all of your stories as much as possible, but am pulled in so many directions right now.

I am scheduled for surgery one week from today - wish me luck! My tumor is small, my GH and cortisol levels are not extremely elevated, and I am young and healthy. So, I think my prognosis for improving my Cushing's and acromegaly symptoms is good.

Unfortunately, during this hopeful time for me, my stepfather has been diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor. He has just started chemo and radiation. My heart is sick over this, but my family is staying hopeful and cherishing every minute.

I am wrapping things up at work, but hope that I will not be out-of-commission for too long.

I hope you are doing well. I have to say that I appreciate the level of optimism on this site. It is easy to get wrapped up in the fear and panic on forums like this, but you all have the ability to lift me up.

thanks for the update...so sorry to hear about your step dad...it is a challenage to keep your positively vibes up and share them with him..but sometimes all of htat really works and you both grow stronger...I think we have all gone throuhg fear,weariness, concern, pain and sheer exhaustion on this site...I have neevr been involved in anything like this so I don't know what other gropus are like but I can honestly say that the folks on this site have always been there for me...late in the night thos eearly dayds after diagnosis the group was smaller, we were samll few, although it is sad with each new member with acro that finds us becasue it means their pain..the pain of acro..it is also a kinship that is healing...I will keep you in mind as you prepare your heart and soul...for this next step in the journey..I use to have a doc friend who woul dtell me...you have a good number of good data points....(it would make me chuckle..) I think you have lots of good data points...SOAR

hi katie dont do as i did and not listen to the docs rest until your ready good luck with your op i had mine in august of last year .Like with nick your new acro family will be sitting on the hill top waiting for news on how you went best wishes and good luck pete (AKA Swampy the sensible one lol)

It is hard to follow everyone because of this condition of the treatments of things that we go through in our lives.Thankyou for putting an update of what you are going through and heres such a big no biggest hug ever from me to let you know you are not alone.You so take care as what you are going through must be so worrying very stressful but yes the same as with Nick with everyone I hope that everyone may feel they are part of this little family Swampy said a saying once and I thought it was so cool ALL FOR ONE AND ONE FOR ALL sending all my love to you Jokeyx
