What I would do, is have your health team be your support backers. There has been many doctors so far, that I have basically told them, listen I need your help. You know my situation, and this Doctor that your having issues with... Who basically controls your pain management issues does not understand your situation.

Having your medical group of doctors send a bunch of thier most recent reports, studies on you, not to mention, oh you've had brain surgery, and have ovarian cysts? That your bones and joints are in constant agony... Then at least taking this faxed information/file have you to her, or faxed to her signed by other doctors... You already have something to stand on.

Take a deep breath, and remember. I had that issue before when I was going in to the Pharmacy for my Androgel and Lorazipam... I went in maybe two or three times "early" for refills in their books. When I refill, I refill my whole file... And I didnt think anything of it, but they gave me a HARD time and looked at me very funny and were snippy. "Well your not finsihed them ALL are you? Your NOT due..." And they whip out the Calandar. And Im like "You didn't get my recent Doctors Prescription from my Therapist, she had my Lorazipam updated.. Increased." WELL! They Just had to call and ensure this was "True".... Even though I had my prescription and authorization numbers on it for a controlled substance.

It happens to us. I think you will be ok. Just have your recent information up to date, and have Doctors around you 'in the know' in case she wants to consult with them before moving on some pain management changes. It's a health team, and you have to be heard.

you're so right. i have a doctor who is my GP who cares so much, but truly doesn't know what to do with me. he's been prescribing my medication, but then my female issues flared up so badly (cramps ALL the time, even without my .) among other things. the problem is, if i need to take more because i'm having a rough time, washington state has changed their laws so much that suddenly i look like an addict. it's ridiculous. also, my gp is saying to talk to my GYN and because i have a unique condition, i have to see a reproductive endocrinologist - who says i need to talk to my gp for help. ugh. i hate how in this country the government controls this so tightly that if you are anything short of cancer (despite being in debilitating pain) you basically are screwed.

I wish you were in Michigan. After years of frustration with doctors on many levels I have a pain medicine doctor who is a physiatrist and an angel (& eye candy). I had a doctor before him who would only work on my shoulder, but EVERYTHING hurts. She refused to think about anything but that left shoulder for YEARS. That meant my tailbone region was ignored & it turned out it was broken in 3 places & fused double & part of it was sideways. I was sitting on that & in horrendous pain, but we wouldn't deal with that until the shoulder didn't hurt any longer. When the hell is that ever going to happen with our condition???? Thank goodness the orthopedic surgeon who removed the tailbone insisted I switch pain specialists. This one treats all of me to the extent it's possible. He really cares. I wish you were here instead of there. BUT he says in 2013, no matter where anyone lives, when Obama care is in place we will have some serious problems getting help for pain.

Little by little, you can keep plugging away & never give up. I had help with the trigeminal nerves & TMJD issues & they're not the HUGE nuisance they were before. There's always something, but things are getting better over time.

BTW there is a chronic pain support group at DS & there's one at fb that keeps up with legislation.

Maybe you could consider contacting a legislator about this issue with being forced to see only the doctor with you whom you have bad rapport & who will not treat you properly.

I'd go back to her head held high with a file full of medical evidence to shove under her nose........ She'd change her attitude sharpish if she was suddenly cursed with chronic debilitating pain. I see new endo next week and hoping pain clinic will be next stop and the orthopods. Had hydrotherapy today was lovely and relaxing in the water but back to square one as soon as I left the warm water. Are you under Ludlums team in Seattle? heard good things about him. It's hit and miss over here in UK I think too for pain management . My other half had some crappy experiences. Also some professionals seem to have a hard time getting their heads around tolerance and addiction.

My current meds are pretty rubbish. Only take edge off and mess with bowel!! Wanting to try TENS.

i have dealt wth the same thing BELIEVE me. i have acromegally,degenerative disk disease,bulging disks in my back,osteo arthritus,and fibromyalgia.and i recently lost my left kidney,and have a urine bag [an illeostomy]on my right. i am in constant severe pain.along with a urinary tract infection once or twice a month every month since the surgery.they are so bad i vomit and get bad headaches.and the docs at the er look at me like i shouldnt be hurtin that bad.it took some searching but i finally found a pain management doctor who understands.my best advise is if one doesnt understand find one who will.best of luck
