Congratulations! In layman's terms was your claim based on your combined issues resulting from acromegaly or one specific issue like a heart problem or soemthing. I am sure I will have to go down that path sooner or later.-thanks

I think it was a combination of things really. The fatigue factor was certainly indicated by the Judge in her justification, that 2 hours was just about my limit......however, not a single Doctor (Endo, Ortho, Internal) in their assessments specifically included the term disabled.

The biggest factor and the deciding one in my non legal opinion was the Government's own Psychiatrist assessment that the cognitive and memory issues combined with the depression factors made it unlikely that I would be able to contribute in a work environment to satisfactory levels and deal with fluctuating stress..

Congratulations, I have heard SSDI is a real pain to get approved. The stress alone must of be terrible. I had surgery on 11/12/2013. They got about 97% of the tumor but there are still small pieces they could not get. I have to go for more blood tests on 01/09/2013 then the endo. I just went to see my GP today to discuss how, I have no drive and tired most of the time or if I do something for a couple hours, I crush so bad. I was going to try to start back to work part-time in January but not the way I feel , I don't see how with my current job I guess we are all different but the same with our symptoms. The GP is putting more off until February to see if my IGF levels because they were around 500 after surgery. The Endo said if they are still up then he will start with monthly injections. I am still new to this since I was diagnosed in October 2013. He is also sending me for a sleep study since I snore. I would need both knees and right hand operated on to relieve the pain when I uses them to much. I was wondering what happens if you can not go back to work and how hard it is to get SSDI, I heard if you are over 50 it is somewhat easier. Does anyone know how long it takes to get one's drive back after surgery or is it based on when they are able to get all your levels back to somewhat normal. I know my GH is high and my testosterone is low. I am hoping one they get these levels back to normal I will be able to be my self again.

Kissr, I think the fact that I'm 57 was also a contributing factor and it still took almost 3 years to get to this point. This beast just keeps on giving.........last year we discovered that the Acro has resulted in a deformation to the femur balls in my hips resulting server osteoarthritis. My left hip is fully symptomatic and prone to displacement. Waiting on word now for a surgery date for a replacement. The right hip is starting to go as well.....not as bad, but will eventually require a replacement there as well. On good days, I can get by using my cane, on bad days I switch to the crutches Last month's MRI revealed what has turned out to be a canvernous malformation (ganglion mass of blood vessel) in my brain, since I"m not currently experiencing any symptomatic from it, we're in a monitor mode.........Neurologist is concerned about how fast it popped up that this too will eventually progress to the point that surgery will be necessary......will have another MRI in 3 months to compare to last month's findings.

The hard part in getting a favorable decision from SS, is the fact that all my blood levels are good..........last test, the IGF-1 was down to 47, thyroid is balanced (finally), testosterone is still low, BP is controlled, etc., etc...........so by the numbers, I should be okay. Unfortunately, it's the issues that can't be measured by the numbers that are debilitating. The cognitive and memory issues, the fatigue, the decrease coordination, the depression, the constant daily pain..........a good lawyer is a must. and an Endo that sees beyond the numbers alone.
