The surgery went well - they removed a 4.5mm with no problems. My recovery is a lot worse than I had anticipated. I have to constantly take Morphine because the headaches are so terrible. Also - I am very sick to my stomach and cannot hold down food. I will be resting the next 3 days...

Nikki with such bad headaches you wn tto rule out CF leak I think that it is what it is called...are you stayign at a 45 degree angel when you rest...I strated sleepign wiht a wedge after suregry and still do...

MCTRJT - it's called a CSF for cerebral spinal fluid & as someone who has had low levels of it, I can tell you it's no fun. The key is to stay HORIZONTAL if your CSF is too low. You have to push the fluids and you HAVE to lay low. I could be upright for 15 or 20 minutes MAX. If they did a lumbar drain, you might have a low level and that could be contributing to or causing those headaches and feelings of nausea. We have one person in our acrofamily who had the misfortune of having a CSF leak for more than a year.

thanks I had a brian freeze last night and could not recall..the full name...I knew a few people struggled with this and the horrible headaches etc...now I dont' recall who struggled for a year I hope they are ok now...

They don't think there are any leaks, but they think I have DI - I am drinking constantly and am always thirsty. I also have almost no sense of smell or taste.
