Found some recent info about control of acromegaly with a drug named Raloxifene, for people with low response to other drugs (Somatuline...).
The list of side effects is quite frightening. Have anyone heard about it ?

As for side effects, your link contains that wonderful catch-all "Raloxifene was well tolerated." This appears to be the standard assessment of any drug trial!

If i understand their conclusions, IGF-1 decreased by more than 50% after 12 months of treatment.
Only post-menoposal women were included, but last study (the spanish one) mentionned same results on male patients.
Agree with you that "well tolerated" only means the patient is still alive. At least
Raloxifene is pills, no injections !
